NOVA 2             Lab Results   Building Plan

Cantare ARG 3 Si Dennis Frank and Peter Strassacker set themselves the goal to design a loudspeaker that had airy tops, a midrange that could keep up with Pascal or Dirac XT and moreover a tight and clean bass. The result was the Nova 2.

Dennis Frank designed several cabinets for testing with different bass drivers - the original intention was to use the transmission line design. Many experiments proved, however, that two Alcone woofers showed better results than transmission line speakers with less powerful and TML suited bass drivers.

First listening tests confirmed that the Nova 2 met all requirements in an exceptional manner. The speaker should be placed at least 60 cm away from the side wall in order to unfold its three-dimensional capability.

The Nova 2 shows the following characteristics:

  • flat frequency response
  • well balanced, low bass
  • excellent spacing and
  • neutral reproduction
  • slim design (HxWxD): 113 x 17 x 46 cm (without base)
  • high quality components with CFC coil and Mundorf Supreme CAPS
The lab results are outstanding.
