Remo Cattaneo from Bellach in Switzerland at last launched one of his kits with Hiquphon tweeter (he owns the distribution rights) in Hobby HiFi 5/2005. This tweeter was combined with an equally good Scan Speak 15W 8530 KXX.

The result is surely a terrific loudspeaker and therefore highly recommendable.

Review by Hobby HiFi 5/2005:
Our listening test showed that the Sima La Piccola is an exceptionally lively loudspeaker. The performance is peppy and vivacious and does justice to all kinds of music: small combo jazz, large symphony orchestra, chamber music style pop or bombastic rock in the manner of Supertramp. Sound reproduction of all types of material is really good. This vividness is not the result of excessive boost of any specific frequency range - the speakers produce a rather natural and balanced sound, sometimes a hint too thin, but always with a tight and clear bass foundation. Especially pleasing - independent of volume - was the meticulous attention to detail and the excellent three-dimensional arrangement of instruments. Even at lowest volumes, just above the hearing threshold Sima La Piccola displays a realistic three-dimensional picture with a tremendous amount of detail. On the other hand, even at higher volumes the speaker still performs with consummate ease and without any strain. It won't get really loud since the diaphragm area is just not large enough. However, up to just below the dynamic limit there is no sign of stress or compression.

Verdict: Sima La Piccola is certainly an entirely successful debut for the young Swiss company Cattaneo Acoustics. We are anxious to see what interesting loudspeaker designs Remo Cattaneo will come up with in future."...
